To defend my previous statement, I was putting myself in the situation of the context of the show. He had no guarantee they weren't going to shoot him. If that were the case, I would not give him the satisfaction of degrading me, and would rather end it quickly.
As for the subject matter, I used to watch a lot of Oz - and this sort of thing happened a lot. It's always disturbing... and yes, male rape happens too. It's never right in any case, male or female - and I have to admit, I was both shocked and impressed The Shield is tackling it. It's ballsy (no pun intended) and edgy, and that is true "The Shield" style. I love the show.
And you KNOW that picture the other guy took with his phone WILL turn up again... I'm guessing Mackey gets shown it once he hears about it in the grapevine or something. He is "controlling" the gang leader after all... and those guys were lackeys of the gang...
